Bio

Born and raised in Los Angeles in the 90’s, real-life-sisters Shelby and Kelsy Kemper grew up in the entertainment industry. But the band they dreamed about having as kids would not form until years later. Their first official release was for the single, “Phase” in March 2018. Which saw organic success, and landed them on the Spotify editorial playlist “Fresh Finds: Poptronix”.
From there the band went on to independently release 3 more singles (All It Took, Next To You, Stranger), 3 music videos, and perform shows in some of California’s most treasured venues; including The Hotel Cafe, The Satellite, and The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills.
The Kemper Sisters, have finally announced the May 4th, 2020 release of their highly anticipated Debut EP, Flower. As they continue to explore their own alternative-pop sound with main collaborator and producer Clay Burton, these new songs reveal yet another level of depth and transparency for the duo. With lots of synth lines, sister harmonies and insightful lyricism, the 5 track EP covers topics such as drug addiction, mental health, family, friendship, and hope.

“Something we haven’t shared publicly before now, is our personal experience with the Opioid-epidemic. Kelsy and I are both really close to someone who has been struggling with meth and heroin abuse for 10 years now, and it has changed our lives and the lives of our friends and family forever. The little girl versions of us (see album cover) could never have guessed how dark and painful things would get… but here we are, making beautiful music and releasing our first EP. I’m really thankful for all of it… it made us stronger”. -Shelby

"Flower is a collection of songs that dives into a darker part of our world. This is us wearing our hearts on our sleeves, showcasing our art for a deeper purpose, like how a painter puts together different pieces for their gallery, each song is an individual but they are all connected." -K

With Shelby, Kelsy and producer Clay Burton behind every track, as well as seasoned touring musician and band-mate Alex Mello, the additional big-name collaborations on Flower is an accomplishment in itself. Credits include one of pop’s most beloved mega-producers Jason Evigan, (Rufus Du Sol, Dua Lipa, Maroon 5, Elephant Heart), world-renowned Italian producer Michele “Canova” Iorfida (Jovanotti, Giorgia, John Legend, Alicia Keys), “Top 10” mixing engineer Rafael “come2brazil” Fadul, and Grammy-winning mastering engineer John Greenham (Billie Eillish, Finneas, Sam Smith, VINCINT, Zella Day).
